Branded as "Funkabilly"
and "Rockabilly Americana" by some interviewers, labeled "Honky
Tonk Groove" and "Monkey Tonk" by others, Cheap
and Easy is the performance vehicle for the
songwriting team of Bodega Bob Homme (guitar & vocals) and
Sugar
(Naomi) Harris (bass & vocals). The duet's earthy
original music is rich in groove and humor, and anchored by
a blend of roots-level Rockabilly, Americana, Blues, & Country music. Cheap and
Easy is considered one of the top
regional touring duets in the southeast for festival, club and close performance venues. They consistently deliver a performance that is a
treat of original high-energy music spiced and
seasoned with jokes, stories, and the comfortably intimate stage
interaction of life-long performers, Homme and Harris.
When
not on the road, working regional
clubs, coffee houses, festivals and house concerts that comprise
the bulk of their performance schedule, Cheap and Easy
can often be spotted keeping their skills sharp and fresh by
working the crowds as street musicians at special events
throughout the southeast.
The duet recently
returned from their successful 2012 East Coast USA tour promoting
their new album, Sound of Midtown and is
performing regionally while writing for their next CD.
"If
they were any more fun, it'd probably be illegal!"
